Quality Control Triple Check

quality inspection
All our bulbs and plants are inspected by our own Quality Inspector Piet vd Aardwegh before they are shipped.

Piet has over 30 years of experience in the business and will spot any problems and diseases long before you do and will make sure that only the best products get shipped to you!

Due to this we were rewarded with the highest quality rating possible by the Dutch Flowerbulb Inspection Service (BKD)  for 2007 and 2008!

As we also ship large volumes to the USA, The majority of products we ship are also inspected by both the Dutch Plant Health Inspection and Inspectors from the  United States department of Agriculture. Only then we are allowed to ship into the USA and We have been doing so for many years. We have a very good track record with both organizations.

Rest assure that our products have been inspected 3 times over. In the unlikely event that something still manages to get to you unspotted (we are all humans), please do not hesitate to contact us and it will get replaced immediatly!

Rodent Trouble

Fritilaria bulbs have a very pungent odor which can help repell unwanted visitors such as rats, mice and moles from your garden. Don't plant them to close to any windows that you like to have open as the smell will be carried on a breeze into your home.

Amaryllis?

Hippeastrum is commonly known as Amaryllis but is not to be confused with the true (garden) Amaryllis Bella Donna. Hippeastrum is less hardy and mostly used for indoor growing, although, if you plant Amaryllis hippeastrum outdoors from May onwards they will grow and regain strength for a new season. They like to be planted outside on a sheltered position with semi shade in fertile soil. Take them indoors by end of September but no later than mid October. Store them dry and cool for about 10 weeks, repot them around end of December and place them in a warm room. Give modest water, and they will quickly regrow and bloom again. All Amaryllis offered on this page are Hippeastrum.
