Lovely slow growing evergreen conifer with dense deep green foliage with a silvery blue gloss. The seed cones have a distinct colour and are very decorative. The tree will grow up to 3 - 4 metres over 10 years and therefore needs a freestanding place.

How to take care of Abies Koreana Korean fir

In general : Abies Koreana Korean fir dislike wet feet, therefore plant in well-drained soil which has been improved with some compost, you can improve soil drainage by mixing in some sand or grit to the planting holes. Abies Koreana Korean fir have strong preference for sandy, acidic soils. At the start of winter water the Abies Koreana Korean fir well so that they go into the winter with a moisture boost. As Abies Koreana Korean fir are evergreen trees, they keep on dehydrating all winter long. Avoid shading the base of the plant to prevent the lower part also turning brown - it does not stand shade. Do not apply fertilizer until your trees have been in the ground for at least 6 -8 weeks. It could burn the new roots. During Feb and March add some Natural Kieserite (Magnesium Sulphate) on top of the soil to improve the foliage colour, if you cannot obtain it, organic fertilizer will suffice. Abies Koreana Korean fir require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and should only be pruned to remove any dead and old wood.
