Ligustrum Ovalifolium Privet 100-120 cm x 10
Ligustrum ‘siberian privet’ is a strong privet used to form a dense, easy-to-manage hedge. It’s a reliable choice for structure and privacy, even in more exposed gardens.
Location
Place outdoors in a sunny position. This privet is a dependable option for exposed spots and performs well in coastal conditions.
Contents
Supplied as a set of 10 bare-root privet plants.
Growth habit and size
Grown as a hedge, it forms a dense, green screen that can be kept neatly shaped with trimming. Left to develop, it reaches around 1.50–2 m.
Pruning and maintenance
For a thick hedge, trim new growth back by about half several times through the growing season. Once the hedge has reached the height you want, maintain its shape with two trims a year, in late spring and early autumn.
Winter hardiness
Hardy down to –15°C and remains green for most of the winter.

Instructions
Plant outdoors.
Set plants in a line for a hedge and space them so you use around 5 plants per metre.
Trim new growth back by about half, 2–3 times per year, repeating until the hedge reaches your chosen height.
Once the hedge is at the desired height, trim it twice per year: late spring and early autumn.
Wait at least 6 weeks after planting before applying organic fertiliser.
