Prunus laurocerasus ‘Novita’ is a New introduced variety of Laurel specially chosen for its hardiness. Its darker foliage resembles Rotundifolia although the Novita is hardier.
It’s a fast-growing evergreen hedge with large, glossy, rich green leaves and once mature it produces clusters of insignificant scented flowers in spring, followed by glossy black berries.
Its very upright growing habit makes it ideal for hedging or screening or for filling gaps.

How to take care of Prunus laurocerasus Novita
Soak the roots for approx 2 hrs before planting; water well after planting and for the next few weeks. It prefers well-drained chalky soil and a full sun position. Requires hard pruning every March. Cut back last year’s growth within two inches of the old wood. If left un-pruned it can reach a height of 8ft (2.5mt).
