Camellia Japonica Pink Ø 9 cm
Camellia Japonica Pink Ø 9 cm
Camellia Japonica Pink is a decorative evergreen shrub that adds a refined touch with its soft pink spring flowers and glossy, deep-green foliage.
Location
Place outdoors in a partially sunny spot. It’s ideal in borders, in a container on a patio, or as part of a hedge where its spring flowering can be enjoyed.
Growth habit and size
This camellia grows into a well-shaped shrub over time, reaching around 1.50–2 m in height with a spread of about 125–150 cm within 5 years.
Plant care
Plant into peaty, well-drained soil and water well after planting. Loosening the roots before planting helps the plant settle in and take up water more effectively during dry spells.
Pruning and maintenance
After flowering in May, trim back any unwanted branches to keep the shrub tidy. Remove yellowing leaves when they appear.
Winter hardiness
Hardy down to –15°C. When grown in a pot, it benefits from a more sheltered position, protected from wind and frost.

Instructions
Remove the plant from the nursery pot and gently loosen the root ball so the roots can grow outwards.
Soak the root ball in a bucket of water for 10–12 hours before planting.
Dig a planting hole so the root ball sits just below soil level.
Mix the dug-out soil with some potting compost to help retain moisture while still draining well.
Place the plant in the hole with the roots spread out, backfill, firm in, and water thoroughly.
After 4 weeks, sprinkle a handful of organic fertiliser on the soil around the plant.
Remove yellow leaves as needed and prune unwanted branches after flowering in May.
If kept in a pot, protect from strong sun, wind and frost.
