Aquilegia more commonly known as Columbine
Aquilegia plants are favourites among florists and no wonder as their bonnet shaped flowers are produced in so many striking combinations and they have pretty lacy foliage.
They are hardy, grow well in sun or partial shade and look great planted in cottage gardens, wildflower gardens or for planters on your patio or decking.
To keep chosen varieties pure and to avoid overcrowding remove seed heads before they disperse their contents.
