Euphorbia trigona is also kown as African Milk Tree. It is an interesting house plant. Although it has thorns growing along the edges of the stems, it is not a Cactus. The leaves that grow near the thorns are deciduous and will drop. The sap of this plant is an irritant.

How to take care of Euphorbia trigona

Position Euphorbia trigona in a bright sunny south-facing window. Euphorbia trigona need direct sunlight and moderate watering during their growing season. Allow the soil to dry out between each watering. Feed with a little bit of some liquid fertiliser during the growing season. Euphorbia are quite fast growing plants and will need to be transplanted to a bigger pot every other year use free draining compost mixed with sand and add pebbles to the bottom of the pot to ensure extra drainage.

Like most other Euphorbia's this variety contains a poisonous sap, which can cause irritation, so care should be taken when handling it.
