Lonicera caerulea Fialka is also known as the Honeyberry plant or edible honeysuckle. The fruits can be beaten raw or used in jams and jellies. This SUPER FRUIT is similar to blueberries in taste and looks. And just like blueberries they are high in antioxidants and vitamin C and will make an interesting addition to your fruit collection. Lonicera caerulea Fialka is extremely hardy and has excellent drought resistance once established. Best planted in groups for pollination. For a good return both varieties Morena and Fialka should be planted.

How to take care of Lonicera caerulea Fialka

Plant the tree in a large pot of at least 25 cm in diameter. Cover the outlet hole with a pot of shard, so that water can always drain. Take a mixture of 1/3 sand with 1/3 compost and 1/3 potting soil. Plant so deep that the root ball disappears just below the surface of the soil. Loosen the root ball well before planting, so that the roots can spread well. Place the pot in a sunny spot on your patio and water regularly, fertilize in early spring, May and July. During the winter you can store the pot with tree in a cold place in a shed or in a sheltered place against a wall. Cover the pot with an old jute bag or similar against frost damage to the pot 4. If necessary, prune in February to maintain the shape, remember that the flower buds will already be visible swollen. You may be able to prune around that to maintain flowering and fruiting.
