Danielle Phlox Paniculata Vlambloem x 3
Danielle Phlox Paniculata Vlambloem x 3
Danielle Phlox Paniculata Vlambloem is a classic garden phlox with pure white flowers and a gentle fragrance, bringing a fresh, elegant note to mid-season borders.
Location
Plant in sun or partial shade, ideally in a sheltered position. Well-drained soil helps it grow strongly and keeps the planting looking neat.
Contents
You will receive three dormant perennial rootstocks without soil.
Growth habit and size
Forms upright stems with green foliage and flowers from summer into autumn. Once established, it typically reaches 80–100 cm tall.
Plant care
Give plants enough space for good air circulation. Water in a way that keeps foliage and flowerheads as dry as possible, and provide support in spring so the stems stay tidy as they grow.
Pruning and maintenance
Remove spent flowerheads and trim back to mid-summer to encourage more stems and later flowering, while also helping to reduce unwanted self-seeding. Plants can be lifted and divided in spring or autumn.
Winter hardiness
Hardy down to –20°C.

Instructions
Choose a sheltered spot in sun or partial shade with well-drained soil.
Remove large clumps and stones before planting.
Plant the rootstock so it sits just below soil level (around 10 cm).
Leave enough space between plants for good air flow.
Avoid watering at night and try not to wet the flowerheads.
Support the tall stems in spring before flowering.
Mulch in early spring with about 5 cm of well-rotted compost or manure.
Deadhead and trim back to mid-summer to encourage more stems and later flowers, and to help prevent unwanted self-seeding.
Lift and divide in spring or autumn if needed.
