Pelargonium Geranium cantabrigiense 'Biokovo' is a vigorous, mat-forming perennial named after a mountain in Croatia. In early summer Biokovo' produces aromatic, rounded leaves and very pale pink flowers with contrasting deep pink stamens. The long flowering period makes it especially useful as a low groundcover or edging plant. This pelargonium is virtually evergreen and in winter the leaves turn partially red.

How to take care of Geranium cantabrigiense Biokovo

Plant your geraniums in any reasonable garden soil. Plant them at the recommended depth in sunny to partially shady areas. They should not be allowed to dry out; in very dry summers make sure that the plants are frequently watered. Remove dead flower heads, as they appear to encourage new growth. Cutting back old flowering stems keeps the plant tidy and will encourage a further flush of flowers and will prevent over-seeding. Divide clumps in early spring or late autumn. If supplied as bare roots please soak them for 12-18 hours (do not exceed 24 hours). This allows them to take up the maximum amount of water without doing any injury to the plant.

The plants admittedly do not die, but they are less decorative in winter.
