Geranium sanguineum 'Album' is suitable for the large rock garden and the front of the border. Prolific bloomers, they will be smothered with pure white flowers from late spring to late summer. Great as a ground cover, it suppresses even the most determined weeds and provides shelter on the ground for birds such as young black birds. Excellent for massing or in mixed containers.

How to take care of Geranium sanguineum Album

Plant your geraniums in any reasonable garden soil. Plant them at the recommended depth in sunny to partially shady areas. They should not be allowed to dry out; in very dry summers make sure that the plants are frequently watered. Remove dead flower heads, as they appear to encourage new growth. Cutting back old flowering stems keeps the plant tidy and will encourage a further flush of flowers and will prevent over-seeding. Divide clumps in early spring or late autumn. If supplied as bare roots please soak them for 12-18 hours (do not exceed 24 hours). This allows them to take up the maximum amount of water without doing any injury to the plant.
