Buddleja Butterfly Shrubs Collection 20-30 cm x 3
Buddleja Butterfly Shrubs Collection 20-30 cm x 3
Buddleja Butterfly Shrubs Collection is a trio of butterfly bushes chosen for their colourful summer display and elegant, arching form—an easy way to add movement and interest to a sunny border or a large patio pot.
Location
Place in a sunny spot for the best performance. It’s well suited to garden borders and also works nicely in large patio pots, where the arching stems give a soft, decorative look.
Contents
This collection includes three Buddleja davidii varieties: one blue, one pink and one white.
Growth habit and size
These shrubs grow into a generous, arching shape with long flower panicles held at the tips of the stems. Allow about 150 cm between plants so each one can develop well.
Plant care
Plant into well-drained soil. Their nectar-rich, fragrant flowers appear from summer into autumn and are particularly attractive to butterflies.
Pruning and maintenance
Cut back hard in spring to encourage fresh growth, and remove spent flowers to help stimulate further flowering.
Winter hardiness
Hardy down to –15°C.

Instructions
Remove the plants from their nursery pots and gently loosen the root ball so the roots can grow outwards.
Soak the root ball in a bucket of water for 1–2 hours before planting.
Dig a hole deep enough so the root ball sits just below soil level.
Mix some potting soil into the planting hole so moisture is held while excess water can drain away.
Place the plant in the hole with the roots spread out, backfill with soil and firm in well.
Water thoroughly after planting.
After 4 weeks, scatter a handful of organic fertiliser on the soil around the plants.
