How to take care of Caryopteris x clandonensis Heavenly Blue
For best results soak the roots for approx. 2 hrs. before planting and water well after planting and for the next few weeks. Plant Kariopteris Klandoñski in a sunny sheltered spot if possible in well-drained rich soil but Kariopteris Klandoñski will do well in any reasonable soil. Kariopteris Klandoñskiwill tolerate partial shade. Late winter or in spring cut the previous year’s growth back hard to young healthy buds and cut weak stems down to ground level. Flowering is unaffected by spring pruning because plants bloom on new growth. Take care that crowns do not rot in wet, poorly-drained soils. Kariopteris Klandoñski tolerates some drought once established. Kariopteris Klandoñski is intolerant of wet, poorly-drained soils. Generally disease free. Apply a general organic fertilizer during the active growing season. Kariopteris Klandoñski are not heavy feeders but they will benefit from some organic matter in the planting hole at planting time. Too much fertilizer will result in a leafy plant with less blooms.
