How to take care of Standard Ceanothus
For best results soak the roots for approx 2 hrs before planting and water well after planting and for the next few weeks. Choose a well-drained, warm site in full sun. Apply some organic fertiliser in the spring, and protect from severe frosts with a layer of mulch. Never plant in an exposed spot but grow them against a south or west-facing wall. Little pruning is required for evergreen varieties, but if you need to prune, then do this in winter or early spring.
