Buddleja davidii bicolour Flower Power blooms with orange pink colors, but also a little blue in the buds. Buddleja is a fantastic low maintenance shrub originally from China. It is suitable for growing in large patio containers, borders or as part of a semi evergreen hedge. It can bloom between July and September. Its long plumes of nectar-rich, fragrant flowers at the end of arching stems are irresistible to butterflies and bees. It's important to prune Buddleja hard in spring and to remove faded flowers in summer, as this will encourage a second flush of flowers. Photo is for illustration.

How to take care of Buddleja davidii bicolour Flower Power

Soak the roots for approx 2 hrs before planting; water well after planting and for the next few weeks. It prefers well-drained chalky soil and a full sun position. Requires hard pruning every March. Cut back last year’s growth within two inches of the old wood. If left un-pruned it can reach a height of 8ft (2.5mt). If planted in fertile soil, no additional fertiliser is required, an annual mulch of well rotted compost will suffice.
