This deciduous shrub is one of the most vibrant early flowering shrubs in spring. Blooming with an abundance of yellow flowers when most of the garden is still fast asleep, they do well in the border as a solitary shrub or planted in a group. This fast growing shrub is also suitable for hedging and can be trimmed back hard. Average growth per year is approx 40cm.

How to take care of Forsythia x intermedia Weekend
For best results soak the roots for approx 2 hrs before planting and water well after planting and for the next few weeks. Plant them in any garden soil, in a spacious hole, spread out the roots and fill up with a mixture of topsoil and compost. Choose a full sun to partial shade position. Forsythia is hardy and very easy to grow. Flowers early to mid spring. Trim back after flowering. Rejuvenate the shrub every 4 - 5 years by trimming back hard to 15 cm above ground Height: 2m (6ft)
