Itea virginica Henry's Garnet is an extraordinary erect, rounded, deciduous shrub with large racemes flowers and brilliant red autumn foliage. The fragrant blooms are borne in late spring and the foliage turns into a lovely burgundy red during autumn. It's a lovely solitaire shrub or as a focal point amongst other ground covering plants!

How to take care of Itea virginica Henry's Garnet

For best results soak the roots for approx 2 hrs before planting, water well after planting and for the next few weeks. Grows best in a soil with low lime content. Needs a sunny location and well-drained soil. After the flowering period has passed, trim away 1/5 of the branches to rejuvenate the bush. Fertilise mature specimens in spring. Take cuttings in November to February.
