How to take care of Lycium barbarum- Goji- Instant Success

Plant in free-well draining soil that has been enriched with well-rotted garden compost or manure. They tolerate light shade, but should be grown in full sun for the best crop. They are hardy and once established, will tolerate wind , salt and drought. Feed in the growing season with a general purpose fertiliser when you see new growth. For maximum fruiting, it is best to train plants against a wall or fence. Flowers and fruit are formed on the stems that grew in the previous year. Prune lightly in early spring, removing dead and badly-placed shoots. Harvest berries from late summer until the first frosts. Only fully ripe fruit are edible. It is better to shake the berries from the plant rather than picking by hand as this will cause the fruit to oxidize and become black in colour. Aphids can be a problem so netting may be necessary to protect fruit from birds.
