Shrubby cinquefoil Abbotswood is one of the best deciduous white flowering Potentilla species. Ideal for a place in the gardens where it’s brilliant saucer-shaped flowers will enhance the whole area from late spring until end of summer. Easy to maintain but likes to have a well-drained soil! Trim hard during early spring.

How to take care of Potentilla fruticosa Abbotswood
For best results soak the roots for approx 2 hrs before planting, water well after planting and for the next few weeks. Grows best in a soil with a low lime content. Needs a sunny location and well drained soil. To keep the size of the plant in shape and to encourage the most colourful bark, remove a third of the stems back to ground level each spring. Fertilise in spring. Take cuttings in November to February.
