How to take care of Raspberry Schoneman
This raspberry takes 2 years to get used to its new location and bear fruit. They prefer a sunny to partially shaded, sheltered location because too much wind can destroy the tender shoots. The soil should be slightly acidic and not too heavy. Make sure the soil is well drained. Plant the raspberries in a row about 25 cm deep. Leave a space of 50 cm between the plants. Stretch cords (wires) at 2 different heights (60 cm and 110). Attach the tendrils to it. Cut back young plants in spring, older ones immediately after harvest, at the height of the top wire. Water regularly, especially in the first year. Apply some fertilizer over the roots in March and protect the soil from drying out in summer with a layer of mulch. In the first year, the raspberry will grow vigorously and will not form any flowers. In the second year, it will no longer grow tall, but will form many new side shoots.
