How to take care of Raspberry Zefa Herbsternte

Carefully remove the shrub from its pot and place it in the center of the hole. If your soil is not sufficiently acidic, grow these fruiting shrubs in pots or ask your local garden center for rhododendron potting soil. Position the plants in a sunny spot, sheltered from strong winds. Fruit bushes don't need much - rainwater is often enough - but don't let the soil dry out, especially during flowering and when they are bearing fruit. Apply fertilizer in spring and mulch in winter to protect them from frost. If planted in pots, protect them from frost or keep them in a greenhouse if possible. Plants need little pruning for the first three years. On mature plants, cut back old branches that have borne fruit and remove damaged or diseased ones.
