The Santolina chamaecyparissus belongs to the Asteraceae family, native to the Mediterranean region. It is found especially on the arid hillsides and the stony and rocky wild areas of the south of France. This plant is widely cultivated for its aromatic silvery foliage. It is a beautiful plant with evergreen foliage, forming pretty low hedges. It makes a good ground cover in gardens and prefers to be planted in the ground over pots or containers.

How to take care of Santolina Chameacyparissus

Choose a sunny location which receives a little afternoon shade. Because ice plants are succulents, they do not tolerate wet soil. Excellent drainage in winter is required as cold wet conditions will cause root and stem rot. Allow plants to completely dry out between water applications, and limit water if possible in the late autumn to ensure roots are dry through the winter months when dormant. Plants have good tolerance for heat and drought once established. Cuttings are easily rooted in early summer. Generally disease-free. plants need little to no fertilizing Read more at Gardening Know How: How To Grow An Ice Plant And Purple Ice Plant Care http://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/ice-plant/growing-hardy-ice-plant.htmplants need little to no fertilizing Read more at Gardening Know How: How To Grow An Ice Plant And Purple Ice Plant Care http://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/ice-plant/growing-hardy-ice-plant.htmPlants need little to no fertilizing.
