How to take care of Solanum pseudocapsicum
Can be grown decoratively as house plants or placed outdoors in warm climates. Position in a sunny spot on your windowsill. Repot in any good general purpose soil that retains water yet drains well, add some pebbles to the bottom of the pot for extra drainage. Allow the plant to become slightly dry between waterings. Fertilise with well diluted fertiliser during the growing season (March to September) and not at all in winter. Jerusalem cherries are also highly poisonous to dogs, cats, and some birds. The plant can be pruned into shape to keep it compact, this can only be done after the berries have gone, and before the little, white, citrus like flowers come out mid summer – if you cut off the flowers, you get no berries!
