Symphytum grandiflorum, more commonly known as Dwarf Comfrey is an evergreen perennial that will form a everlasting, carpet of deep green foliage. In early spring it produces dropping clusters dainty bluebell-like, creamy yellow to white flowers. A great plant for suppressing weeds. Suitable for planting under shrubs or roses and looks well in a wildflower meadow.

How to take care of Symphytum grandiflorum

Grow in moderately fertile, moist soil and choose a sun or partial shade position. Appreciates some afternoon shade in hot summer climates. This variety makes good groundcover but can become invasive so choose your site carefully. Cut back after flowering to encourage neat, young foliage to return. Add some slug pellets to avoid Slug and snail damage. Propagate by division of fleshy roots in spring and propagate by root cuttings in early winter.
