Camellia Japonica White 20-30 cm
Camellia Japonica White 20-30 cm
Camellia Japonica White is a Japanese camellia valued for its glossy evergreen foliage and elegant white spring flowers, bringing a calm, refined presence to the garden.
Location
Place in a sheltered outdoor spot with partial sun. It’s a natural choice for borders, patio containers or as a tidy element within a hedge.
Growth habit and size
This camellia forms a neat, leafy shrub with decorative, glossy green foliage. Over time it can grow to around 1.50–2 m tall and spread to about 125–150 cm wide.
Plant care
Plant into peaty, well-drained soil to keep the roots comfortable and evenly supported. A good soak before planting helps the root ball settle in well.
Pruning and maintenance
After flowering in May, remove any yellowing leaves and prune back unwanted branches to keep the plant looking well-shaped.
Winter hardiness
Hardy down to –15°C. When grown in a pot, it benefits from extra shelter from wind, frost and strong sun.

Instructions
Remove the plant from the nursery pot and gently loosen the root ball so the roots can grow outward.
Soak the root ball in a bucket of water for 10–12 hours before planting.
Dig a hole so the root ball sits just below soil level.
Mix some potting compost into the planting soil to help retain moisture while still draining well.
Place the plant in the hole, spread the roots out, backfill and firm the soil.
Water thoroughly after planting.
After 4 weeks, sprinkle a small handful of organic fertiliser on the soil around the plant.
Remove yellow leaves and trim unwanted branches after flowering in May.
If kept in a pot, protect from strong sun, wind and frost.
